Officially official

After 15 months (today!) of marriage, I am finally and officially a Ratcliff!
(Notice the 't', and absence of 'd' and 'e') : )

Right after we got married, I changed my name on my drivers license and social security card, but for various reasons I never changed my name at work which of course meant that legally I was a Ratcliff, but according to medical insurance, benefits, work email, etc I was still known by my maiden name. It would be so complicated when I would be at the doctor's office using the last name my insurance company knows, then writing a check that had a completely different name.

Yesterday I got my new insurance card in the mail with my new name and I am so excited to no longer call myself a different name depending on who I am talking to! Whew!

Did you married girls keep your middle name, or make your maiden name your new middle name? I didn't put much thought into it, but I kept my middle name. I have a brother though, so he can carry on the family name : )

I said "name" 12 times in this short post, so I apologize for lack of variance in my verbiage :)

I didnt change my middle name... just left it... :) Which I am happy about.
I do have to agree though that the whole "name change" experience is quite a pain! Why dont the guys have to go through any of that stuff?
Oh well... I think I changed all my stuff about a week or two after we got back from our honeymoon, so I have been Callie Black for quite some time now! :)

I kept my middle name because I like it and it's kind of a family name as well as it was both of my grandmothers middle name. I also have two brothers who can carry on the family last name. :)

Get this -- I went to social security to get my named changed and I just got my social security card and my maiden name (which I took as my middle name) is MIS-SPELLED! AHHHH!

I kept my middle name and dropped my maiden name. My last name seemed to bring bad luck lol so it's gone. I did think about keeping my maiden name for my middle name, but I didn't think it sounded as good.
