I got into nursing school!!!
I actually avoided writing this post for awhile because I wasn't sure what direction I would take it. There are so many different thoughts, feelings, and emotions I'm having about all of this right now, but in one word, I'm THANKFUL. Thankful to God for opening doors and allowing me the opportunity to do what I was born to do. Thankful to my wonderful husband who will quit his job in a few weeks and move a few hours down the road to make my dream a reality. An thankful to all of my family for their well wishes, encouragement, and prayers throughout this process. I know I wouldn't have made it through to the other side had it not been for so many of you.
So here's the scoop:
I start classes May 26th in San Antonio, Texas! We will be moving seperately because I start school before Ryan finishes, and since our lease isn't up until August. That part won't be so fun, but I guess it will be a great opportunity to really throw myself into studying, right? My in-laws live in San Antonio, so for Ryan, we will be going back "home"!
I believe my last day of work will be May 14th. I’ve learned so so much from working at M. D. Anderson, and will actually miss it a lot. It’s definitely been a sad and frustrating place at times, but it has laid a great foundation for my nursing career and taught me so much about the human spirit. I would say that my time there has definitely changed the way I live and think about life. I really hope I will be back some day - as a nurse, not a patient!
Here’s the really good news: I will graduate with a BS in Nursing in August 2011! Just 15 short months from when I start.
While there are many unknowns for the next few months, Ryan and I could not be more excited to embark on this adventure!
