Am I missing something here?

I read a wide variety of blogs. Mommy blogs, Newlywed blogs, design/decor/renovation blogs, cooking blogs, etc. I've noticed a common thread that runs though these seemingly unrelated blogs, and it has begun to truly baffle me. The authors of the blogs seem to have found the key to unlock an extra 10 hours each day. Either that or they don't sleep.

I don't get it. I barely manage work and school with a full face of makeup (I do know my priorities). Even then, 99% of the time, the trash from our Chick fil A dinner is still on the counter when I leave for work in the morning.

How are you guys able to keep up with your children (and husbands), decorate cake balls, refinish a china cabinet, visit the elderly at a nursing home, tweet about new chair cushions at Anthropologie, make it home in time to make the new organic lasagna recipe you thought up, then before bed, blog about The Bachelorette?

I have 800 square feet of living space, no dogs or children, and can't even manage to blog regularly. I took a screen shot of my Google reader as of this morning.

That's 549 unread items for those who need to get their glasses. I can't even manage to read blogs right now (or comment, and I'm so sorry about that)!

So seriously, what am I missing? Yall don't sleep, right? Hired help? Drugs?

Hmmm my hubby is in Iraq, and all I am doing right now is studying 9 hours a day for the Bar Exam. Not much exciting going on and blogging is a fantastic distraction :) I'm sure it will come to a screeching halt when I start work next month and my huz comes home. Oops :)

I hear ya! Currently I am unemployed so that frees up a lot of time.

However, when I was busy (back in the day) I would make sure I had set aside time to blog. For me, I blog first thing in the morning, usually before I get out of bed if I'm being honest. I think of it as being on my to-do list, get it done, and then I'm good for the day.

But that's just me. Most people, with a lot more going on than myself, yeah, I don't know how they do it.

Yeah, until I lost my job I never got a chance to sit down and blog, now it's the only thing that really keeps me sane.

I've tried the no sleeping things...it's not really worth it. lol. write what you can when you have time and it'll be good enough for me!

Ok, well, I don't read nearly that many blogs. I try to keep the ones that I REALLY like or the people that are REALLY important to me in my feed reader. Other than that, I have a general list of ones that I will hop on and check every so often.

I consider myself a pretty busy person (ball games, part time job, house(that I'm semi-obsessive about), and those 2 pesky kids that are 3 and 1.5). I don't do a lot of things that aren't "have to's" ie: cake balls, crafty stuff, etc. That is the stuff that has fallen by the wayside. I miss it but I know one of these days, I'll be able to to that kind of stuff more.

Ha! I love the honesty. I think that a lot of those regular bloggers work at computers. However, some people really do all of those crafty things for fun and spend a lot of time working on them.

I blog while I'm at work, so that allows me 8 hours of limited distractions to read blogs and write my own.

As far as crafts, volunteering etc. I don't know how some people do it. I try but then there's always something else to do.
Those people must have very good time management skills.

I am so with you. I usually find at least a half hour each day to catch on my fav. blogs and try to write a post every other day, but sometimes I feel so inadequate when I read people's blogs who seem to do all the things you listed (refinished furniture, whip up delicious dinners each night, etc.) when I am lucky if I shop for groceries or clean my bathroom once a week. When do they find time for this??!?

So I guess my point is, you're not alone! I guess my advice would be to pick a certain time of the day (like over your lunch hour, after dinner, or right before bed) to catch up on blogging stuff. Whatever you do, don't stop writing! :)

p.s. Left you an award on my blog last week. I think I DM'd you on Twitter about it but I just wanted to make sure you know!

DUDE!! I so am with you on that. I go days without blogging because I don't have time sometimes. and I only have a job and church (which I guess I am heavily involved in) to worry about. NO school! Oh, well, and a very needy puppy... and husband, for that matter.

But I LOVE the stuff I read, I just NEVER have time to do any of it!! Then I really get depressed when I think up an idea and don't have time, yet, to do it.. then I find a blog where someone already has. BUMMED!!

But I'm with you on that. IfI could blog full time, I'd be awesome! But I can't, so I'm not. End of pathetic little story, I guess. ha ha

I have about 7 endless hours out of 8 at work to blog, ha!
Otherwise, there would be NO WAY I could keep up. I love my sleep and my free time at home with my boys ;)
